Melanoma & Skin Cancer

Overview:

Skin cancers include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma (the most serious type).

Melanoma:

Arises from melanocytes (pigment cells); highly aggressive if not caught early.

Symptoms:

  • New or changing moles

  • Asymmetry

  • Irregular borders

  • Color variation

  • Diameter greater than 6mm

Treatment:

Surgical removal, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, radiation — depending on the stage.

Bladder Cancer

Overview:

Cancer that begins in the bladder’s lining, most commonly transitional cell carcinoma.

Symptoms:

  • Blood in urine (hematuria)

  • Frequent urination

  • Pain during urination

Treatment:

Surgery, intravesical therapy (direct treatment into the bladder), chemotherapy, immunotherapy.

Brain Cancer

Overview:

Brain cancer refers to malignant tumors originating in the brain or spreading there from other parts of the body.

Symptoms:

  • Headaches

  • Seizures

  • Memory problems

  • Vision changes

  • Balance issues

Treatment:

Surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or a combination.
